Answering your most frequently asked questions about Revolve Dance Alliance

  • With RDA, we are seeking to create a new dance studio experience with a focus on technical training in a variety of genres, as well as a competitive company focused on serious technical growth and artistic development.

  • The LEVEL System has been created to better standardize the training received and being taught to dancers in each class. We believe in training based on skill, not necessarily on using age alone as the standard basis for class enrollment. Also, this allows for a dancer to choose a class based on their level and experience in that particular genre and be free to learn and grow accordingly at their own page in that genre.

  • Membership on the Revolve Competitive Company team is determined by the Directors and is invitation only. Dancers progress is monitored throughout the season and during the summer at the annual required Company audition. Membership is offered to the dancers accepted for that coming season based on their previous year's performance, attitude, technique, etc. Membership is reassessed yearly.

  • Company members will rehearse their choreographed pieces either at the end of regular class nights, Fridays, or on Saturdays. Specific rehearsals will be posted in the front lobby and on the board with as much prior notice given as possible to accommodate different schedules.

  • Solos are meant to be a collaboration between the Directors and the dancers. Every Company member will be guaranteed at least one (1) solo to compete with during the season. The style, music choreographer, etc. will be decided in collaboration with the Directors during an initial “consultation” to assess the students’ wants, needs, and goals in order to best guide them towards success. Duos and trios will be assigned similarily.

  • Revolve will attend three (3) mandatory convention/competitions every season with many options given for other competitions for Company members to attend at their own discretion or in the agreement of all members involved in any groups, duos, trios, etc. Involvement or participation in any competitions not listed must be approved by the Directors.

  • We believe the best education comes from constantly pushing forward, therefore we will be actively seeking to bring master class opportunities, information on intensives, high education guidance mentorship programs, etc. to help your dancer succeed in and reach their personal and professional goals. We will also offer pop-up forums for dancers to sign up to attend which will include but are not limited to: musical theatre, audition prep, professional industry lectures, and commercial dance workshops.

  • All dancers will be invited to participate in an end-of-year showcase event during the month of June. This performance will showcase not only choreographed pieces but technical progressions, combinations, or achievements in technique class genres as well. Similarly, we are working on organizing a winter showcase event (possibly in-house) to celebrate achievements and current “pieces in progress.”

  • Yes, the directors will offer weekly technique lessons or rehearsal times for individuals. Permanent weekly solo lessons will be scheduled along with an open sign-up sheet being posted weekly for those wishing to sign up.

  • We are Revolve have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for any bullying, discrimination, violence, or hate speech used by our dancers, staff, or parents either on studio property or off.
